ABOUT ME
Hello, and welcome to my blog about Internet video! My name is Mike Liskow, and I’ve been in business of creating software and website content for 11 years now.
WHY WEB VIDEO?
A little over 2 years ago, my company and I entered the industry of web video. I was compelled to get into video because I realized after having run a local business for many years that the way we got nearly all of our clients in our business’s lifetime was through the face-to-face relationships that we made doing local NETWORKING.
I began to realize how much we invest into our web presence, and how little we got back from it over the years in terms of revenue. It became apparent to me that when we business owners design websites and set up an overall web presence, there were very few website elements that invoke the same emotions in prospects when we meet and interact with them in person. Websites instead were typically very pragmatic, and were a way to list our product lists, contact info, resumes, experience, and expertise (all good things, but none of which really compelling enough to be consistently significant in a buying decision).
I have learned through networking that although I happen to have a fantastic resume (if I do say so myself :-), experience, and lots of expertise, none of those things are the reason that people have done business with my company over the years. The reason is because of me and the people who work in my company—PERIOD. People do business with us at the local level because they KNOW us, LIKE us, and TRUST us.
MY VLOG’S PURPOSE
With this realization, we launched the Zing Media Network, a network of Web Portal Suites and a video studio in the center dedicated to applying the KNOW-LIKE-TRUST-EXPERIENCE model. My Vlog entries will be dedicated to giving information on how to make our business web presence truly produce things for us in terms of “return on investment.” I will highlight the ways that Zing Media Network has developed some PROCESSES to UTILIZE our web presences as TOOLS to help us elevate our relationships with clients (just like the process of GOING to a networking meeting regularly, handing out a minimum of X# business cards, and making 2 warm contacts is a process).
